Alberta Arts Days 2011

On September 30th to October 2nd we celebrate the Arts all across Alberta. We often judge the Arts for their contribution to our culture. What is overlooked is their contribution to our economy. The artists themselves are a true “renewable resource.” They are just the tip of the iceberg.

Their works are shown and sold at Art Galleries. For some, their work is sold outside the province and outside of Canada. They buy supplies and teach both young and old their craft. All of this contributes to our local economy.

High River is the home to fabric artists, potters, painters, sculptors, photographers, a luthier (maker of stringed instruments) and musicians. We also have residents who work in the movie and television industries.

Please take the time to visit the many talented Artists that will be showing their work at open houses in High River this weekend.
